It's always exciting to witness two former college teammates reunite as NHL teammates later in life. Such occurrences are quite rare, but when they do happen, it adds a layer of confidence for the team acquiring them. Having familiar faces to bond with and help integrate into the new organization is invaluable.

Bobby Brink, a forward for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, is hopeful that this reunion will take place as the Flyers are currently working on a trade to send defenseman Tony DeAngelo back to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for Massimo Rizzo. Brink eagerly anticipates the opportunity to play alongside his former teammate once again.
Rizzo, a center standing at 5'11" and weighing 174 pounds, was drafted by the Hurricanes in the seventh round, 216th overall, in 2019. The 22-year-old from Burnaby, BC, has been playing for the University of Denver for the past two seasons.

In the 2022-2023 season, he played 38 games, scoring seventeen goals with 29 assists for a total of 46 points. Additionally, he accumulated 14 penalty minutes and boasted a +24 rating.
During breaks in the previous season at the University of Denver, Rizzo played 41 games, tallying fourteen goals, 43 assists, and 57 points. He had 44 penalty minutes and maintained a +27 rating.
It has been noted that Rizzo requires some training and practice with his skating, as it is not as smooth as it should be. However, if this trade goes through and Rizzo becomes a Flyer, he will spend some time with the Phantoms before potentially reuniting with his former teammate.
