John Tortorella was clear during his first press conference as the new Flyers head coach: the team needs an identity. He said it again on the TMJS podcast with Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek.
His team needs guys that will stick up for their teammates no matter what.
And Friedman believes that the Flyers will be interested in the services of Nicolas Deslauriers, who is very well known for his big fights. This season, he registered 113 penalty minutes. In 506 games in the NHL, the forward has 521 penalty minutes. That's a lot!
This season, he fought Flyers defenseman Nick Seeler in one of the biggest and intense fights of the season.
