Former Flyers centerman Kevin Hayes recently was on an interview where he explained a ritual he does after he scores every goal which had a few people wondering why. It turns out that he does this ritual of tapping his arm and then pointing to the sky in reflection of the loss of his late brother Jimmy Hayes.

Throughout last year, it was widely seen as the Flyers organization took part in a few visits with Kevin Hayes his nephew Beau since he lost his father at such a young age. His three-year-old nephew also does the salute for his late father which is quite somber and humbling.

The 2nd anniversary of Jimmy's death is upon us when he died on August 23rd, 2021 at the age of 31 years old. The coroner ran a toxicology report on him which discovered later that he had fentanyl and cocaine in his system at the time of his death.

During his hockey career, Hayes played 334 games, scoring 54 goals with 55 assists for 109 points and 149 penalty minutes. He played for the Blackhawks, Panthers, Bruins and the Devils.
Our sympathies and support go out to the Hayes family as the anniversary approaches.
