In the NHL, there are instances when a player struggles to integrate into the team he is either traded to or signs with during unrestricted free agency.
Regardless of how the coach positions him or explains the team's needs, some players find it challenging to adapt their game to the coach's style, leading to conflicts.
This situation appeared to be the case for Tony DeAngelo during his brief tenure with the Flyers last year. It was frequently reported that head coach John Tortorella and DeAngelo couldn't find common ground on several issues.

This discord ultimately resulted in DeAngelo's departure from the team. He returned to the Carolina Hurricanes to rejuvenate his career. In a recent game against the Flyers, DeAngelo attempted to exact revenge on his former team, but his efforts were in vain as his defensive performance contributed to the Flyers' victory.
Despite DeAngelo recording an assist during the game, he was on the ice for two of the Flyers' goals, resulting in a -2 rating.
This outcome was certainly not how DeAngelo envisioned his performance in front of his old team, but sometimes things simply don't work out as planned.
