Before the Flyers take on their bitter rivals in the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight at the Wells Fargo Center, Flyers head coach John Tortorella met with the media after the morning skate. Tortorella gave updates on the lineup, power play improvements and the busy week ahead for the orange and black.
The first point that Tortorella addressed was tonight's lineup. Torts confirmed that there are no changes to tonight's lineup and he will be ready to rock and roll with the same crew that was able to garner a much needed win on Saturday against Calgary. Most importantly, Carter Hart will be in the net for the second straight game after a 22-save game on Saturday.
Secondly, Tortorella addressed the power play. With guys like Egor Zamula seeing more minutes on the power play, the Flyers have seen improvements as they currently rank last in the NHL in the power play and look to dig out of that hole.
"It's not so much the shot mentality, it's the calming down of the power play. I think it's his vision. I haven't worked with him on that, it's something that he's showed us and that's why he's been getting those opportunities. I watched the tape after the last game and was even more encouraged with some of the subtle little plays that he does make and the calmness that comes with it."

Tortorella also emphasized that seeing success on the power play, is going to lead to overall success on the five-on-five. When offensive players see offensive things happen, their confidence grows.
Tortorella also spoke on the importance of physicality, fore-checking and cleaning up sloppy play this time of the year as the season really begins to ramp up. Puck drop is set for 7:00p.m. EST as the Flyers and Penguins rivalry looks to unfold a new chapter tonight at the Wells Fargo Center.
