During the Tony DeAngelo trade talks that would send him back to the Carolina Hurricanes, in which ultimately fell through. Hurricanes Prospect Massimo Rizzo was brought up as a possible return to the Philadelphia Flyers at the time and it appears both teams are still working on something.

On Thursday afternoon, news broke that the Carolina Hurricanes had released a trade on their team website which involved the Philadelphia Flyers. A well known analyst originally tweeted about the possible trade but at the time nobody was aware what it meant.
It was a pretty bazaar tweet when it was originally posted and wasn't taken very seriously. Due to it being tweeted by JFresh, who doesn't usually post «breaking news». However, a lot of Hurricanes fans and media noticed the slip up on the Canes team website; leading to a spiral of emotions from both Flyers and Canes fan bases.

Now, the return from the Flyers is a little confusing and sort of unknown at the moment.
Originally, it was unknown by most of who the Flyers would give up but others seem to think it may be David Kase, brother of Ondrej Kase, who are both not currently playing in the NHL.
The brothers are currently under contract with HC Litvinov of the Czech Extraliga; despite this, their rights are still owned by the Flyers and Hurricanes. Which would make for an interesting deal and could maybe see both play together in the AHL/NHL under the Carolina Hurricanes.
It's unknown where this trade may be heading or if it will be official, nonetheless bringing in Massimo Rizzo, would be huge for the Flyers organization, not to mention getting a pick back from the Tony DeAngelo deal.
Who Is Massimo Rizzo?
Massimo Rizzo, has 82 pts in 77 GP at Univ. of Denver in 2 seasons. He has also played along side Bobby Brink at Univ. of Denver, bringing him in would be a great addition and Bobby and Massimo could really work well together in the AHL development and skill wise. A young stud who can truly develop into a star forward, at 22-years-old that is a prime age where a player either blossoms or doesn't pan out.
The Flyers obviously have a lot of interest in the kid and I think it's a low risk - high award scenario for the organization, especially in a rebuild.
