Since the arrival of Mike Yeo behind the Flyers bench 25 games ago, Travis Sanheim is having himself a Norris worthy back end of the season. Sanheim, a fourth year NHLer was drafted 17th overall in 2014.

The Canadian has found his groove again averaging 1.37 P/60. Meaning per game he is expected to score 1.37 points. This also puts him in the league top 10 expected point getters among defensemen.
Within his own team Sanheim leads in points per 60, GF%, CF% and ExGF%. Keep in mind these are all 5v5 numbers. GF% is the ratio for goals for and against while a player is on the ice, CF% stands for team puck possession and ExGF% stands for expected goals for.

In terms of defensive stats, only Justin Braun performs better.
At only 25-years old, Sanheim is performing well this season. Especially considering the circumstances. Sanheim has one year left after this one at a 4,675,000 AAV until he becomes a UFA at the end of the 2022-2023 season.
