It's been a remarkable turn around for the Flyers since they finished their season last year 7th overall in the entry draft. The team has been buying into head coach John Tortorella and his staff and how their vision of hockey should be played.
After the Flyers defeated the St Louis Blues 4-2 two days ago, it was tweeted that the team had won its 14th road game this season.
That's quite remarkable considering how poor the team played last year and how many felt the team would be helpless again this year. In the past 44 games, the Flyers have a record of 24-14-6 for a total of 54 points. That puts them second overall in the metro firmly secured in a playoff spot.
Being where they are, and with the trade deadline on the horizon it remains to be seen on how general manager Danny Briere and his management team will approach the deadline whether it's selling off some assets on expiring deals or
will they be buyers?
I feel the Flyers are currently in a retool rather than a rebuild as the team seems to be better then what was advertised and it's likely the team will go through free agency this summer seeking players for upgrades.
