Last year, Nikita Kucherov missed the entirety of the season before playing Game 1 of the Lightning's first round series against the Panthers.

The Lightning dressed a $90M team during the playoffs, despite the fact that the salary cap was set at $81.5M...
Thus, one GM wanted to revisit this loophole that permits to ice a team that is going over the salary cap during the playoffs, and GM's added that to their subjects of discussion for the General Managers meeting next week.

Are they going to implement a "Kucherov rule"? As we can see, the same thing could happen during the playoffs this spring. The Vegas Golden Knights are going to be way higher than the $81.5M salary cap for the playoffs (if they make it) when all of their players will come back.
So what is the solution? According to Frank Seravalli, here is one GM's idea...
"The salary of the 20 players iced by a team in a playoff game must add up to less than the salary cap limit. This season, it's $81.5 million."

We'll see where things will go...
