Incase you missed Tuesday's nights game in Philadelphia all eyes have been on the Flyers, after Flyers defenceman Ivan Provorov refused to take part in the team's warmups due to Provorov not wanting to wear the Flyers pride warmup sweaters.

The NHL has tried to bring more inclusion to everyone when it comes towards hockey. This includes races as well as inclusion of the LGBTQ community. This includes all of the 32 NHL teams having a "Pride Night" game. Provorov would later say his refusing came down to his religious beliefs, but some fans are calling Provorov a "Homophobic."
The NHL has now decided to issue a statement from the league itself saying:
Hockey is for Everyone is the umbrella initiative under which the League encourages Clubs to celebrate the diversity that exists in their respective markets, and to work to achieve more welcoming and inclusive environments for all fans," the NHL said in the statement. "Clubs decide whom to celebrate, when and how, with League counsel and support. Players are free to decide which initiatives to support, and will continue to encourage their voices and perspectives on social and cultural issues." - NHL

That being said the NHL won't punish players for their refusal to participate in various initiatives, but I don't think the fans will be as understanding it will be interesting to see if Provorov's decision will play out when it comes to other's deciding not to not take part in future activities.
