Since 1997, the Detroit Red Wings haven't managed a win in regulation at Wells Fargo Center excluding the playoffs. Last night that changed. If it wasn't already pathetic enough to lose 6-3 and to spell your own player Isaac Ratcliffe's name wrong, the Flyers have allowed the Detroit Red Wings to snap a 25-year-old curse.

For some context, some of you reading this right now aren't even 25. In 1997, we had Ron Hextall, Paul Coffey, Eric Lindros and Rod Brind'Amour all in the lineup. Claude Giroux was only nine years old and in the 1996-1997 season, the Red Wings swept the Flyers in the finals to win the Stanley Cup.
And thus is the circle of life. They waited 25 years later to come haunt us again. This time Yzerman was not even a player, just the GM.
After that tumultuous season, the Flyers did not lose at home to the Red Wings for another 24 years. It's only fitting that given enough time history always repeats itself.
Could this season get any worse?
