The Flyers are going through a 5-game losing streak, but there's still a bright side. The first one is the play of Gerry Mayhew. He's got three goals in his last two games, and six in 16 games played this year.
Do you want an even better revealing stat? He's the best goalscorer of the team since January 20.
Another player crushing the expectations placed in him is Zach McEwen. He's not a great point producer, but his work ethic is something important for the rest of the team. He doesn't take any nights off.

And, when you think about it, those players could very well be two of GM Chuck Fletcher's best acquisitions since he's with the team. Mayhew was signed as a free agent last summer. Zach McEwen was claimed through waivers in early October by the Flyers.
