Phone calls to the Tofino Resort and Marina's guest services line and to the 1909 Kitchen and Bar went unanswered. Mitchell and Hamhuis are part of a group of investors, that includes developer Andrew Purdey, who purchased the high-end resort in 2016.
Mitchell apparently deleted his Instagram account at some point on Wednesday morning, an account he'd used to share many photos of him fishing and out on the water.
Attempts to reach Mitchell, Hamhuis and Purdey have not been successful.
Island District RCMP would not comment on the situation.
More info on the ''sus'' activity will be given once the police speak out..
