"Earlier today we shared the report that the Philadelphia Flyers have been in contact with the Detroit Red Wings about goaltender Petr Mrazek and now a trade has been completed.
The Flyers have just announced that they have acquired Mrazek for a conditional fourth-round pick in 2018 and a conditional third-round pick in 2019. The conditions of both picks have yet to be disclosed. The Wings will retain half of his remaining salary for the rest of the season.
This was a move that Ron Hextall needed to make with both Brian Elliott and Michal Neuvirth on the shelf with lower-body injuries.
The 26-year-old is 72-58-20 with a 2.60 goals-against average, a .912 save percentage and 13 shutouts in his 166 career NHL games. Mrazek will be a restricted free agent after the season.
The #Flyers have acquired G Petr Mrazek from the @DetroitRedWings in exchange for a conditional 4th round draft pick in the 2018 NHL Draft and a conditional 3rd round draft pick in 2019. https://t.co/h3rlewulta
