"With Brian Elliott on the shelf after undergoing core muscle surgery, Michal Neuvirth was to step up in his absence. The Flyers are 3-0-1 since Elliott's surgery, but Neuvirth has had his own troubles staying in the past and now he is dealing with another injury.
Neuvirth had to leave Sunday's 7-4 win over the New York Rangers with a lower-body injury and while we don't know the extent of the injury, you can bet general manager Ron Hextall is working the phones looking for a goaltender before next week's trade deadline.
Robin Lehner of the Buffalo Sabres is a name that has come up in trade rumors, but he suffered a lower-body injury too so that may take him off the table.
According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Flyers have had discussions with the Detroit Red Wings about Petr Mrazek. The 26-year-old has struggled a bit this season going 8-7-3 with a 2.89 goals-against average and a .910 save percentage. He has been an all or nothing type of guy this season. Mrazek has three shutouts on the year and his given up two or fewer goals in seven of his starts, but he has allowed at least four goals in five games.
Lehner injury might narrow the options for the Philadelphia Flyers. Sources say ongoing discussions with Detroit on Petr Mrazek.
