In sports, the workforce, and in life, the saying of "leaders lead" has always proved to be true. Whether it's Michael Jordan, Tom Brady, or Derek Jeter, when the best player on the team leads by example, it is only natural that others follow and success stems from that leadership. One member of the Philadelphia Flyers has embraced that role and has the Flyers staring at the Playoffs for the first time in four seasons.

2024 NHL All-Star Travis Konecny had another dominating performance against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night recording two points, a Gordie Howe Hat Trick, and brought that tough, chippy mentality to the ice from the get go.
Konecny recorded the Gordie How Hat Trick all in the first period, starting just a minute into the game when Konecny dropped gloves and then dropped Neal Pinok with an uppercut. Even after the strong first period, Konecny continued to bring the energy and set the tone, even if it meant going after Dylan Samberg after firing a useless slapshot at Samuel Ersson after time expired in the second period.

One of the largest contributions to the Flyers momentum on Thursday night was due to Konecny's fight. Konecny's fight set the tone and his teammates gravitated towards his energy, including Ryan Poehling.
As Konecny continues to have the best season of his career and has the Flyers playing their best hockey since the Covid-19 pandemic, it appears that a long-term contract and a Captains patch is imminent. Konecny is an incredible representation of the city of Philadelphia and is an immense fan-favorite and has been for quite some time.
