The trade deadline countdown is officially on as there is less than a month away from the March 8 deadline. The Philadelphia Flyers have been the center of many talks with many rumors and expectations thrown around. A recent report by a respected Flyers analyst predicts one of the top teams in the West to be interested in a number of Flyers pieces at the deadline.
Sean Walker and Scott Laughton have been two massive pieces talked about thus far in the trade deadline frenzy. With the center market being low, many expect teams to try and land Scott Laughton. With Sean Walker also having a cheap deal, many predict a contending team to make the addition of Walker for a playoff run.
According to prominent Flyers reporter Anthony DiMarco, the Edmonton Oilers have been extremely active and interested in the two Flyers pieces, and have multiple conversations over the past few weeks.

Both Walker and Laughton could be solid additions on a team to go along with elite scorers like Connor McDavid and Len Draisaitl, but it is now a matter of the Oilers meeting general manager Danny Briere's price.
It has been rumored that Briere is asking for a first round pick each for both Laughton and Walker. If the Flyers can acquire more first round picks, this trade could be a win-win for both sides.
