The Philadelphia Flyers are finally back on home ice after ending their 10-game losing streak by winning all three games on their annual trek through western Canada. They will have a very tough test ahead of them by taking on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
The Flyers scored a 4-2 victory over the Maple Leafs in Toronto with goals from Brandon Manning, Jakob Voracek, Claude Giroux and Valtteri Flippula. Brian Elliott made 28 saves for the victory.
The Flyers will get a big boost to their blue line tonight as Radko Gudas will be back in the lineup after serving his 10-game suspension. He will be back on the third pairing alongside Travis Sanheim. The team went 3-3-4 in his absence.
It appears that the Flyers are catching a huge break as the Leafs leading scorer Auston Matthews looks like he will miss his second straight game. He sat out Sunday night's 1-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers and did not take part in today's morning skate.
We will see the same goaltending matchup we saw when these two team met in October in Elliott versus Frederik Andersen. After struggling during the month of October, Andersen has given up two goals or less in 10 of his last 15 starts.
