Last year rumors surrounded Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux, there was plenty of speculation that Giroux would be moved during the offseason. Giroux didn't go anywhere and almost completely doubled his offensive production going from 58 points to 103 points this past year and hitting the 30 goal plateau for the first time in his career. This year, it's Wayne Simmonds turn. The Flyers versatile forward has been labeled to be on the move as the 30 year old will become an unrestricted free agent next summer. Joey Alfieri of NBC Sports took a look at the situation and believes the Flyers will wait until the trade deadline to make their decision. Simmonds has been a bit banged up over the last couple of seasons and had pelvic surgery this offseason. The NBC Sports writer believes the Flyers will take the opportunity to evaluate their needs through the season and possibly flip Simmonds at the deadline to address any of those needs. With the addition of James van Riemsdyk, Alfieri states it makes Simmonds more then expendable, with the two players only being a year apart in age difference. Despite Ron Hextall stating the two sides are hoping to land an extension, Alfieri seems to be convinced that Simmonds will be on the move. Do you think Simmonds will end the season in a Flyers uniform?
