Philadelphia Flyers general manager Ron Hextall has a lot on his plate heading into the summer. The team is currently loaded with assets heading into the summer, two first round draft picks and anywhere from $17million-$22million in cap space depending how high the cap rises. Hextall doesn't have any super huge contracts to re-up either, he'll throw an offer likely at restricted free agents Robert Hagg, Alex Lyon and Taylor Leier and that's about it. There is one soon to UFA that Hextall could possibly keep around and that's Valtteri Filppula. However, looking at the contract demands revealed by John Boruk of NBC Sports Philadelphia, it's not likely. Boruk reports that Filppula is looking for a multi-year contract which would be a huge gamble for any team considering he's 34 years old. While Filppula is looking for some term, he definitely will have to take a pay cut from the $5million he earned last season. Should the Flyers re-sign him or let him walk?
