Since Monday night, there have been many speculations on why Cutter Gauthier did not want to be a part of the Flyers organization. Was it outside influences, John Tortorella's coaching style, a rookie GM? Whatever the case may be, Gauthier attempted to clear it up in his first media appearance since the trade.
After becoming an Anaheim Duck, Gauthier hopped on the "Ducks Stream" podcast and answered questions about his future, why he didn't want to play in Philly and world juniors as Ducks fans got the first look at their newest prospect.
Gauthier gave his answer in the most politically correct form without clearing anything up at all, basically just saying he has been advised by his agents to not answer questions of that topic in detail yet.
Gauthier did, however, clear up the rumors that Kevin Hayes was the one deterring Gauthier from the Flyers as the rumors caused fans to relentlessly attack Hayes on twitter with threats to him and his family.
"It's a personal matter between myself, my family, and my agent. I did see one thing going around the internet that I would like to address about the rumors about Kevin Hayes. He had zero conflict on anything that had to do with the trade and seeing what people are saying is pretty ruthless but Kevin Hayes had nothing to do with the situation at hand."
